Experience
In 2016, Sophia left her job selling bin bags in a call centre to become a freelance writer and travel the world. After staying in her first hostel in Australia, exploring Europe by buses and trains, and going on a whirlwind tour of the USA, Sophia went back to university to study for a master's degree in Magazine Journalism.
She then worked as a writer and editor at a media agency for six years, while doing freelance theatre, film, TV, and art reviews on the side. In 2024, Sophia went on a sabbatical around South-East Asia, Japan, and India, where she fell in love with that part of the world and became determined to go back as soon as possible. Since February 2025, Sophia has been learning yoga, pranic healing, and how to cook ayurvedically friendly vegetarian food in North India.
Passionate about ethical tourism and not forcing destinations to become cookie-cutter versions of each other, Sophia loves to slow travel and learn how other people live.
Education
Sophia has a bachelor's degree in history from Cardiff University, a master's in magazine journalism from City, University of London, and a certificate in counselling skills from Highgate Counselling Centre.
